Cuba with the Olympus Pen EPL5
Â
I did a full review on the Olympus Pen EPL5Â last year; you can find it here.
Cuba is a very interesting country. It is the largest island of the Caribbean region and is just emerging from decades of Communist rule by El Presidente Castro. Since his brother Raoul took over power, things have improved for Cubans.
They are now allowed to own private property, buy a new car and have access to the internet. They are a very friendly and open people, who got caught in the cold war power struggle of the 1960’s.
A visit to Cuba indeed seems like a warp to the 1960’s: classic American cars, beautiful pastel colour buildings and vast untouched nature reserves.
The Olympus Pen EPL5 is a very capable camera for its small size, it has the same sensor as the larger OMD EM-5. Coupled with the incredible Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4, it is very discrete yet capable of making beautiful pictures, even in low light.
