Metz flashes with Sony Multi-Interface Shoe available
Two Metz flashes with Sony Multi-Interface Shoe, the 44 AF-1 digital and 52 AF-1 digital are available as from today.
Since last year, Sony Alpha cameras have been shipping with a new shoe design, making it necessary to use cumbersome flash adapter to use Metz flashes. Great to know that they are now making Sony versions of their 44 AF-1 digital and 52 AF-1 digital flash units with Sony’s new flash foot.
The Mecablitz 44 AF-1 digital is considered to be one of the handiest flash units available; the powerful Mecablitz 52 AF-1 digital is particularly impressive thanks to its convenient touch display and numerous adjustment options. Since the Sony HVL-F60M suffers from severe overheating issues, the latter, in particular, seems like a very attractive product.
Both flashes are TTL capable, and cheaper than Sony’s counterparts. Now that we have Metz flashes with Sony Multi-Interface Shoe available let’s hope for a price drop in Sony’s range too.
