Sony A7s: first impressions and problems

The first couple of Sony A7s cameras are shipping now!

 

Already a few issues have popped up.

  • If you’re shooting video in XAVCS 50Mbps,  you’ll need a large and fast 64 GB SDHC card if you don’t want to get an “unsupported memory card error

  • When using silent mode under warm fluorescent lighting, some users report green-coloured banding appearing in the JPEG photos

Switching between AWB and fluorescent white balance does not help. This is probably a side effect due to the refresh rate of the fluorescent bulbs combined with shooting under silent shutter mode on the Sony A7s.
